We’re All Mod Here
This past weekend, ModCloth hosted a tea party for bloggers and fashionistas alike. In the above picture you can spy a preview of a dress from their upcoming collaboration with Dear Creatures. The below photos are taken from the Mod Hatter Tea Party and from Susan Gregg Koger’s Instagram account (you can follow her on twitter at @SusanGKoger, and if you’re not already, I highly suggest following @ModCloth), as well at ModCloth's Flickr page. SuperHEROINE of the Moment – Promethea
Promethea is a goddess of all things creative. Her story begins in the AD 411 when Promethea’s father advises her to flee from religious persecution into the desert where he believes the ancient gods will protect her. Her story is then eternalized in the Immateria, which essentially is a physical domain for the imagination. From then on, Promethea exists through six different vessels of women who she inhabits in order to visit the real world. Each vessel had to use their imagination Tell Me More!
Jammie Dodgers Recipe
It's almost here my fellow Whovians. A new series of Doctor Who begins tomorrow night! So, get your fezzes out. Pick up fish sticks and custard from the grocery store. And don't forget the Doctor's favorite snack, Jammie Dodgers. But you don't have to buy the popular (and somewhat expensive in the U.S.) British cookies. I've found a simple and delicious recipe that is sure to be the hit of your viewing party! From DianasDesserts.com For Cookie Dough Ingredients: 2 cups unsalted Tell Me More!
Recommended Reading: Coraline by Neil Gaiman
When I saw Neil Gaiman at Barnes and Noble for the Best American Comics book signing, I jumped at the opportunity to have him sign my Coraline book. Being the gentlemen that he is, Neil employed a “no nerd left behind policy,” and vowed to stay until every last book was signed. It was the only time in my life where I met a celebrity and I could not stop talking. Luckily, this was to my advantage because a minute later Neil’s English accent interrupted me, inquiring “Do you want Tell Me More!
Cheerleader vs. Zombies
I stumbled upon a trailer for the video game Lollipop Chainsaw last week and immediately put it on my "must-have" list. It's Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Resident Evil, as popular cheerleader Juliet has to battle zombies after a virus infects the students of San Romero High School. Yes, San ROMERO. James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead, Slither) wrote the story and helped create the characters for the game. That guarantees us lots of violence, gore, sex and good fun. Watch the trailer: Tell Me More!
Indie Supergroup Mister Heavenly
Ever since the debut Mister Heavenly LP came out last Tuesday August 16 (via Sub Pop), I have been unable to listen to anything else, but believe me I deserve it after my 8 month wait. I saw Mister Heavenly perform at the Bowery Ballroom on January 16 and I had been anxiously awaiting their album release ever since. It was obvious from the beginning that Mister Heavenly had already formed a cult following. Whether it was Nick Thorburn (Islands/The Unicorns), Ryan Kattner (Man Man), Joe Tell Me More!
