What We’re Obsessed With This Week

Our first obsession this week is that Marvel's The Avengers will be returning to theaters this Labor Day Weekend from August 31st through September 6th.  Even though I've already seen The Avengers in theaters a total of 5 times, I will definitely be making it a point to see it again before it leaves theaters.  The Avengers Facebook page also advises audiences to stay through the credits scene which may be an indication that there is going to be something new for us to see! X-Men Master Gordon Smith Exhibition

This free exhibition, presented by Tiff, about the makeup artist and special effects designer, Gordon Smith is currently on view at the CIBC Canadian Film Gallery from April 17, 2012 through March 31, 2013.  Smith is best known for his work on X-Men and X2, and he has also worked on some other films such as Dead Ringers, Jacob's Ladder, and five Oliver Stone films.  If you've ever been curious to see just how your favorite X-Men came to life for the films, this exhibit is a must see.  It highlights Tell Me More!

Doctor Who: Pond Life

Everyday this week BBC has released a new clip of the spinoff webseries Pond Life, leading up to this Saturday's premiere of Doctor Who.  The first episode of season 7 of Doctor Who, entitled Asylum of the Daleks, looks terrifying.  Each episode of Pond Life is between 1-2 minutes and gives us a small insight into the life of Amy and Rory when they are not traveling with the Doctor.  Although even when they are trying to relax at home, they cannot escape the adventures they normally embark on. On November 13, 2012, all 10 seasons of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which ran from 1987 through 1996, will be released in a 23 DVD set by Lionsgate Entertainment.  The set includes over 3 hours of bonus features and is packaged in the most adorable Turtle Wagon/Party Van casing.  According to Topless Robot, the discs will be exactly the same as the individual season releases.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete Classic Series Collection is selling for $100.  What are our thoughts on Tell Me More!

American Horror Story: Asylum: 10 New Character Photos

FX has been promoting American Horror Story: Asylum like crazy in the past two weeks and we're loving every creepy teaser trailer that's been released along the way.  Today, 10 new photos from the second season were released via Entertainment Weekly.  So far we know that season 2 of American Horror Story will focus on an insane asylum on the East Coast that is run by a priest and a group of nuns.  Jessica Lange, the Golden Globe Award winning neighbor from the first season, is returning to show Tell Me More!
