Geek Chic: Avengers Concept Dress Designs
The above high fashion dress designs inspired by Marvel’s The Avengers were created by Kelsey Michele, an artist on deviantART. Our favorites are the Captain America dress and the Iron Man dress. The Captain America dress, which is absolutely stunning, is even styled after a dress silhouette from Captain’s era. We love how she transformed the shield into an evening clutch and added a star fascinator as a hair accessory. The Captain America dress is simply demure. The fitted bodice and off the shoulder neckline adorned with stars has us swooning. On the other end of the spectrum, our second favorite dress, the Iron Man dress, is a completely modern and futuristic look. The dress is very structured and looks similar to a Balenciaga dress that was popular in fashion magazines a few years back. The Iron Man dress is also made flawless by the accessories. Kelsey re-imagined Tony’s arc reactor as a bold pendant necklace, and she completed the look with mid calf wedges. One of the reasons we love Kelsey’s designs so much is that you can tell what a fan she is from her styling choices. Each dress perfectly embodies the hero they were designed after. The Hulk dress is adorned with a boa which adds volume and makes her shoulders look broader, similar to The Hulks. And the draping on the Thor dress is heavenly.
