Vertigo’s THE UNWRITTEN Series To Be Relaunched With New #1 Issue In January

Mike Carey and Peter Gross's Unwritten series for Vertigo comics is schedule to end with issue #54 in October, but fear not, Tommy Taylor will not be gone for long as Vertigo is planning on relaunching the series in January with a new #1 issue.  Tommy Taylor is the son of a famous author who created a fantasy series about a main character who shares his name.  Issue #54 will end the series, as well as the recent Fables/Unwritten crossover story arc aptly named The Unwritten Fables.  "It felt like Tell Me More!

Bryan Q. Miller & Kelley Jones to Create Disney’s First OGN: SPACE MOUNTAIN

Admittedly, I've always been a little bit scared of roller coasters, unlike my partner in crime, Kristin Fowler, but this past week I went to Disneyland for my birthday and rode Space Mountain for the first time in my life.  IT WAS AWESOME.  What's even more awesome is that Disney is going to be publishing their first original graphic novel based on Space Mountain and it's going to be written by Bryan Q. Miller (Smallville, Batgirl, Earthward) and drawn by Kelley Jones.  The book will be the first Tell Me More!

C2E2 2013: Archaia Spotlight

One of our favorite exhibitors this year at C2E2 was indie comics publisher Archaia! Archaia is known and loved by readers for their fantasy, sci-fi, horror and noir graphic novels.  With such an eclectic assortment of titles to choose from, there is definitely something for everyone.  Archaia also held a panel on Sunday afternoon discussing their first ever 3D graphic novel which is scheduled for release in October of 2013.  The book, The Joyners in 3D, is written by R.J. Kickstarter: Peter Pan The Graphic Novel by Renae De Liz

This past weekend I helped to support Peter Pan: The Graphic Novel Volume 1 illustrated by Renae De Liz.  Her goal is to adapt JM Barrie's novel Peter and Wendy, and the resulting preview images are truly beautiful.  De Liz explains that many current adaptations of the novel leave out too many details or change elements of the original story.  She is also planning on adding extra backstory about Captain Hook by including story elements from JM Barrie's prequel novel, The Little White Bird.  The Tell Me More!
