First Official Poster and Trailer for HORNS

First Official Poster and Trailer for HORNS

We're so excited for the upcoming release of the movie adaptation of Joe Hill's Horns.   As if Hill's impeccable prose wasn't reason enough for us to be on board, Daniel Ratcliffe is starring in the film as a man who wakes up one morning with horns growing out of his head after being suspected of the rape and murder of his girlfriend.  The horns give him a strange power which motivates people to confess their sins to him.  The film doesn't have a US release date quite yet, but the UK debut is Tell Me More!

Books About Town: London Book Benches

These book benches in London are some of the most inviting benches we've ever seen.  There are 50 benches in total called "Books About Town," and each was designed by a local artist.  The book benches celebrate British literary history and some of our favorite books are included such as Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Sherlock Holmes, several Jane Austen titles, 1984, and many more.  To see all 50 benches, you can visit the official Books About Town website. OUT OF PRINT Releases New Sci-Fi Collection

This past month at Book Expo America, Out Of Print, teased us with their new sci-fi collection.  Out Of Print is one of my favorite clothing and accessory vendors.  They sell the softest t-shirts which depict covers of classic books, phone cases, tote bags that look like library cards, necklaces, stationary, and many other novelty items.  Each time you purchase a t-shirt from Out of Print, they'll also donate a book to a community in need in Africa.  So buying from them is win win.  Their newest Tell Me More!

The Book in Our Bags This Week: DOROTHY MUST DIE By Danielle Paige

The next book in our weekly recommendation series is Danielle Paige's debut novel, Dorothy Must Die, which is based on Frank L. Baum's Wizard of Oz, but takes place in our current time.  The protagonist, Amy Gumm, lives in Kansas with her mother and gets transported to Oz during a tornado but once she arrives, she realizes that the current state of Oz is nothing like the definitive movie of her childhood.  She learns that Dorothy has returned to Oz and become a power hungry dictator of sorts, using Tell Me More!

We decided to start a new blog column called The Book in Our Bags This Week where Kristin and I will recommend the best books we've been reading, or the ones we're most anticipating, so you don't have to spend hours in a book store searching shelves (unless you're like us and enjoy that kind of thing) or on Amazon reading reviews and wondering what you should spend your hard earned dollars on.  Our first pick is We Were Liars by E. Lockheart. Every so often a book like We Were Liars comes along Tell Me More!
