NYCC 2013: LEGO MARVEL Screen Shots & New Characters Announced

LEGO's upcoming LEGO Marvel game is already among one of this years most anticipated games.  At NYCC, a new list of characters and a ton of gameplay screen shots were released (photos courtesy of GamerGen). There will be a free downloadable demo available on LEGO.com for PC, and on Xbox Live and PSN as of October 15th.  LEGO also announced a ton of new characters we'll see in the game including: Shocker, Pyro, Nightmare, Absorbing Man, Malekith, Kurse as a bigfig, Taskmaster, Power Man, Iron Fist, Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: ZELDA: A LINK BETWEEN WORLDS Trailer & Screen Shots

During the Nintendo panel at NYCC, a new trailer for Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and screen shots of the game were released.  We're introduced to Lorule.  There aren't any details yet as to how Lorule is related to the Dark World.  All we do know is the "Lorule was just like Hyrule.  So beautiful... So very promising."  The game debuts on November 22nd for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS. Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Video Game Trailer

Marvel has teamed with Activision and Beenox for the new Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game tie in, and this past weekend at NYCC, the first teaser trailer was released.  The trailer doesn't show very much except for an animated view of New York City, and a few frames of Spider-Man out and about.  The game is going to have a separate story line from the film, and is scheduled for release in May of 2014 for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, and PC.  According to La Press, Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: STAR WARS REBELS Synopsis & Villain Revealed

A new featurette was released at NYCC about the new animated series Star Wars Rebels.  The video is available to view below, and it focuses mainly on The Empire, and the villains of Star Wars.  The show is set during the rise of the Galactic Empire and the key setting for the series will be on the planet Lothal.  The newest villain, and the first character announced since Disney purchased Lucasfilm is called The Inquisitor.  The Inquisitor is under the control of Darth Vader.  Also released Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: Marvel To Relaunch CAPTAIN MARVEL In March

In March of 2014, Marvel will be relaunching Captain Marvel with an all new issue #1 written by Kelly Sue DeConnick, with art by David Lopez. The series will take Carol Danvers into outer space.  The title of the new storyline is "Higher, Faster, Further, More."  Carol will be involving herself with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the new story will not include time travel, but will definitely appeal to the Carl Corps fan base.  Marvel Editor Steve Wacker stated in an interview with CBR that Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: IDW Announces Artist Edition of Dave Gibbons’ WATCHMEN

IDW announced at NYCC that they will be publishing an Artist Edition of Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore's Watchmen entitled, Watchmen Artifact Edition.  It will debut later in the year of 2014 and will measure 12 x 17 inches.  IDW's press release boasts that the Artist's Edition will feature "a cornucopia of individual pages and covers from Watchmen, each image a testament to Gibbons' elegant and nuanced style."  Gibbons says "IDW's Artist's Editions are among my very favorite comic art books of Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: Marvel To Launch ELEKTRA Ongoing Series In March

Elektra is going to be joining the All New Marvel NOW universe in her own series written by Zeb Wells with artwork by Mike Del Mundo.  Issue #1 of the series is scheduled for debut in March of 2014.  The series will have Elektra in a more covered up version of her traditional costume.  Wells and Del Mundo are planning on exploring the guilt Elektra faces in her profession as an assassin, and whether she feels as though she can still atone for her actions or if she is too far gone.  Writer Zeb Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: Darwyn Cooke To Illustrate PARKER Prose Novels At IDW

At NYCC, IDW announced that Darwyn Cooke will be illustrating deluxe hardcover versions of Donald E. Westlake (Richard Stark)'s original prose short stories and novels.  Cooke will be designing the series as well as providing stunning color illustrations.  The first book, The Hunter, will be released during the first half of 2014 and additional editions will be released in chronological order thereafter.  "The Parker novels written by Donald Westlake had a profound effect on me as a young man," Tell Me More!

NYCC 2013: Dark Horse Comics Announces SERENITY Sequel Comic Series

Zack Whedon will be writing a new 6 issue comic series for Dark Horse called Serenity: Leaves on the Wind, which will serve as a sequel to Joss Whedon's film Serenity.  The series artwork will be done by Georges Jeantry (Buffy Season 8 & 9).  According to Editor in Chief , Scott Allie, "This story is the first giant step past the film, after the big damn heroes stuck a big middle finger in the face of the Alliance.  Zack establishes new ground rules for these characters.
