The official release date for Star Wars: Episode VII has been announced! We'll be getting the next film on December 18, 2015. Episode VII is the first Star Wars film to be released by Disney after they purchased Lucasfilm and it is the first in the sequel trilogy. The film will be directed by JJ Abrams. Star Wars: Episode VII will begin shooting in the Spring of 2014 in the UK.

The next addition to Kotobukiya's Star Wars Bishoujo statues is the lovely Mara Jade Skywalker. Mara Jade is well known in the Star Wars extended universe. She originally worked for The Emperor and was instructed to kill Luke Skywalker, but she ended up marrying him instead. The Kotobukiya statue comes with a removable cape and two lightsabers, and feature Mara in her combat suit. You'll be able to own your own Mara in May of 2014 for $74.99 and you can pre-order her now on Amazon.

A new featurette was released at NYCC about the new animated series Star Wars Rebels. The video is available to view below, and it focuses mainly on The Empire, and the villains of Star Wars. The show is set during the rise of the Galactic Empire and the key setting for the series will be on the planet Lothal. The newest villain, and the first character announced since Disney purchased Lucasfilm is called The Inquisitor. The Inquisitor is under the control of Darth Vader. Also released Tell Me More!
The new animated Star Wars series, Star Wars Rebels, from Dave Filoni and Greg Weisman is set to launch around this time in 2014. The first 15 second teaser trailer for the series has been released. Star Wars Rebels is designed to be in full canon with the saga movies, including the upcoming Episode VII.

Jeweler Paul Michael designed this gorgeous ring featuring Han Solo frozen in Carbonite. We think the ring would make the perfect wedding band for any Star Wars fan. A few weeks ago, Dark Horse Comics released the trailer for their new series, The Star Wars, which is based on George Lucas's original screenplay for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, and today, we have a preview of the upcoming #1 issue! The comic is written by J.W. Rinzier with artwork by Mike Mayhew and will be released on September 4, 2013.
