Geek Chic Icon of the Week: Gwen Stacy
Our very first Geek Chic Icon of the Week is none other than The Amazing Spider-Man’s Gwen Stacy (played by Emma Stone). Throughout the entirety of the movie, we coveted Gwen’s city chic style. Our favorite outfit, and one of her signature styles, can be seen below in the photo of Gwen and Peter sitting on the bleachers. Gwen is wearing a sky blue peacoat which she accessorizes flawlessly with her striped knit scarf, grey knee high tights, taupe knee high boots and blue leather gloves. The only element missing from this ensemble is her infamous black headband. Gwen is usually seen wearing oversize sweaters, dresses or miniskirts. We never once see Gwen in a pair of pants. Her style can be classified as feminine, timeless and classy. She even manages to make her OsCorp lab coat look like an appealing fashion choice. Every once in a while Gwen will throw in a funky accessory (see knit hats below), which makes her wardrobe more youthful. Another style Gwen always avoids is low cut tops. Considering Gwen’s status as a high school student, it is impressive that she has already developed such a refined taste in her clothing choices. When it comes to jewelry, Gwen sticks to simple pearl stud earrings. If we could steal any element of Gwen’s style, we would choose her extensive winter coat collection. Due to The Amazing Spider-Man’s success at the box office, Sony has confirmed that this film is the first in a trilogy. We’re excited to see Gwen’s style develop further in this rebooted franchise as the next two movies are released. Enjoy the below gallery of Gwen’s insatiable style!
