NYCC 2014: DC Digital Announces WONDER WOMAN ’77 Comic

This past Sunday at New York Comic Con, DC Comics announced a new Wonder Woman digital comic that totally caught our interest.  The series is called Wonder Woman '77 and it's inspired by the 1970s Wonder Woman television show which starred Lynda Carter.  Wonder Woman '77 will be written by Mark Andreyko and illustrated by various artists.  It's going to be released in the same digital first vein as the Batman '66 comic and it will debut in December with 6 weekly installments which will be released Tell Me More!

NYCC 2014: MARVEL Announces HAWKEYE Relaunch

This past weekend at NYCC, Marvel announced yet another exciting ongoing that we cannot wait to read.  The Hawkeye solo series, by Matt Fraction and David Aja which, sadly, came to an end at the creators request, will be relaunched by Jeff Lemire and Ramon Perez.  Jeff Lemire will be making his Marvel debut with Hawkeye, and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for Clint Barton.  Lemire and Perez seem like the perfect dynamic duo this book needs for a successful revival. NYCC 2014: POWERS Trailer For PlayStation Original Series Debuts

Sony's PlayStation will have its first original programming with the news series Powers.  Powers is based on the comic of the same name, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Michael Avon Oeming.  This past weekend at NYCC, Sony released the first live action trailer for the series which stars Sharlto Copley.  PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to watch the series this winter via downloading or streaming and if you don't have a Plus account, you'll still be able to watch the Tell Me More!

NYCC 2014: Dynamite Entertainment Announces TWILIGHT ZONE Ongoing Series

Dynamite Entertainment, who recently acquired the rights to the James Bond license, has just announced a new ongoing series based on Rod Sterling's infamous sci-fi television program, The Twilight Zone.  The series will be called The Twilight Zone: Shadow & Substance and will launch in January of 2015.  Mark Rahner will be writing the series and working with artist Edu Menna.  The first cover will be illustrated by Francesco Francavilla.  Here is the official synopsis from Dynamite: The Tell Me More!

NYCC 2014: Tim Seeley To Write New Series EFFIGY At Vertigo

This past weekend during the Vertigo panel at NYCC, the announcement was made that Tim Seeley would make his Vertigo debut with a new series called Effigy.  Seeley currently writes Grayson and Batman Eternal for DC Comics, but is even more well known for his work on horror comics such as Hack/Slash and Revival.  It seems like a great move for both Vertigo and Seeley and we're really looking forward to what he'll be putting out.  Seeley will team up with the Madame Xanadu artist Marley Zarcone Tell Me More!

The official Hobbit Twitter account has revealed its next character poster for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies featuring Thorin Oakenshield.  The last four posters featured Thranduil, Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Galadriel, and Tauriel.  The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies release date is set for December 17, 2014 so we can expect many more character posters and trailers in the weeks to come.
