If DOCTOR WHO Was a Vintage Anime

If DOCTOR WHO Was a Vintage Anime

This animated video shows us what Doctor Who would be like if it were a vintage anime.  Amy plays the stereotypical anime girl who is always surprised at danger, Rory plays the annoyed sidekick who always sees danger coming and would rather trust Daleks than the Doctor, and the Doctor is the effeminate and enthusiastic male archetype that might secretly have a crush on Rory.  There's also a cameo from an enraged Doctor Who fan at the end of the video who explains why this anime version is inaccurate. This Saturday after a new episode of Doctor Who, The Nerdist's BBC show is going to be zombie themed for The Walking Dead.  In keeping with the zombie theme, they had Karen Gillan (former Doctor Who companion, Amy Pond), made up to look like a zombie advertising a new skincare line called z'Ombeal, because as Karen states, being undead is no reason to give up on beauty. Our first obsession this week is that JK Rowling has finally released ebook versions of the Harry Potter novels via her Pottermore website.  The website still states that it is in beta testing, but provides the link to where the ebooks can be purchased.  The digital novels are being sold on Barnes and Nobles website. This means that we'll get to travel back to Hogwarts and relive the adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione.  We can't wait to download our copies and re-read the series we've loved Tell Me More!

Doctor Who – “The Wedding of River Song” Recap

Steven Moffat went back to the basics for this season’s finale of Doctor Who.  The episode rewarded viewers who have been watching since Moffat took over and the ending successfully tied up the storyline and has given The Doctor a new undercover way of time traveling.  We begin the episode by realizing that time is stuck in one place in London.  All of the events of history are overlapping and occurring simultaneously.  We see dinosaurs, Churchill as Cesar, an advertisement Tell Me More!

Doctor Who – “Closing Time” Recap

"Closing Time" reunites the Doctor with Craig Owens, who we last saw in "The Lodger". Craig has settled down with his girlfriend Sophie and they've had a baby they call Alfie (or Stormageddon, depending on who you ask). Sophie is off for a relaxing spa weekend, so Craig is taking care of little Alfie alone. A task which many (including himself) think he may be incapable of successfully pulling off. The Doctor drops in on this boy's weekend for a friendly visit, but he quickly realizes that something Tell Me More!
