Disney’s Star Wars Weekends 2013 Logo Revealed
The Disney Parks Blog just revealed the logo for Star Wars Weekends 2013. In a nod to this years 30th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, the artwork features Mickey and pals Chip & Dale zipping away from scout troopers on the Forest Moon of Endor. In addition to the artwork, Disney also announced that Ray Park (Darth Maul) and Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok) will appear at SWW as celebrity guests. Park will attend Weekends I and II, while Davis will be at Weekends II Tell Me More!
Coming Soon: Disney-Inspired Handbags and Accessories by Vera Bradley
This fall, Vera Bradley will debut a new collection of handbags and accessories inspired by Disney. The collection will feature two patterns, "Just Mousing Around" and "Midnight with Mickey." Cathy Dawson, merchandiser for accessories at Disney, told the Disney Parks Blog, "We are thrilled to introduce Vera Bradley to our accessories assortment. In recent years, we’ve seen several guests in our parks and resorts sporting fun, colorful bags by Vera Bradley." The designs will be available Tell Me More!
J.J. Abrams To Direct Star Wars Episode VII
When Disney announced that they were purchasing Lucasfilm and planned to create a new series of Star Wars movies rumors began to swirl about who would be chosen to direct the first film. Those rumors were usually met with prompt denials. One of those came only one month ago when J.J. Abrams told Empire magazine that he turned down the opportunity to direct Star Wars Episode VII, citing his loyalty to the Star Trek franchise. Updated With Denial: Zack Snyder Developing A Star Wars Movie
Man of Steel director Zack Snyder is rumored to be developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm loosely based on Kuro Sawa's 1954 adventure drama Seven Samurai. The untitled project is expected to be a stand-alone movie and not part of the numbered episodes. Snyder's movie will be "set within the series galaxy, though parallel to the next trilogy." Snyder will reportedly begin production on the movie after Disney starts on its planned release of Star Wars: Episode VII. Episode VII is expected Tell Me More!

Disney’s Star Wars Weekends 2013 Dates Announced
The Disney Parks Blog has announced the dates for 2013's Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The special event weekends will run every Friday to Sunday from May 17th through June 9th. James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein are returning as celebrity hosts. Taylor is the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi on the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Eckstein voices Ahsoka Tano on The Clone Wars series, and is the creator of the geek chic clothing & accessories line Her Universe. Additional Tell Me More!
J.J. Abrams Turned Down Star Wars: Episode VII
Since the announcement in October that Disney would purchase Lucasfilm and make another Star Wars film, rumors have circulated that J.J. Abrams was at the top of a short list of directors for the project. Now, the Lost creator and Star Trek director has confirmed that those rumors were true. In an interview with Empire magazine, Abrams says that he had "very early conversations" with Kathleen Kennedy (George Lucas’s hand-picked successor) about being involved with Star Wars: Episode VII.
