Saturday's finale of Doctor Who, titled "The Name of the Doctor", promises to reveal the Doctor's greatest secret. So, will we finally learn the Doctor's true name- or is there a bigger secret that he's hiding? We'll have to wait until Saturday night to find out. In the meantime, take a look at the set of images the BBC have released from the finale that show the return of River Song, as well as Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax. The BBC have released a set of images from this Saturday's episode of Doctor Who titled "The Crimson Horror". In the episode the Doctor and Clara travel to 1890s Yorkshire. "The Crimson Horror" was written by Mark Gatiss and is considered to be a "Doctor lite" episode, which means that we won't see much of the Doctor or Clara. Instead, the story will focus on the Doctor's old friends Strax, Madame Vastra and Jenny (last seen in "The Snowmen"). Read the official synopsis below:

On this Saturday's episode of Doctor Who the TARDIS is captured by a salvage team. When its tossed on top of a scrap heap the TARDIS begins to malfunction. The Doctor is able to escape from the malfunctioning ship, but Clara is trapped inside. The Doctor has only has 30 minutes to find Clara and save his TARDIS before it self-destructs!

Yes, that's how excited I got over seeing Tennant suit up again as Ten. So I apologize for the delay, and now present them to you. I hope you fellow Tennant fans have a bag handy.

The BBC has released over 20 images from the next episode of Doctor Who titled "Cold War." The episode finds the Doctor (Matt Smith) and new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) on a Russian submarine, where a frozen alien warrior has recently awakened.
The episode was written by Mark Gatiss, and Smith recently told the BBC it was one of his favorites:
"They built a submarine and the five-year old in me was like 'Yeah it’s a submarine!', I loved getting sprayed down at the beginning of the Tell Me More!
Last week the BBC announced that David Tennant and Billie Piper would return for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special. Now, we have the first pics of Matt Smith and David Tennant together since that announcement was made. The photos were taken yesterday at a script read-through for the special. Take a look:

The BBC have just announced that Doctor Who will return to BBC One and BBC America on Saturday, March 30th.
The Doctor is back in a fantastic adventure written by the show’s lead writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat. The episode - the first in a run of 8 - is directed by Colm McCarthy whose previous credits include Hustle, Spooks and Endeavour. Later adventures in the run include episodes written by Mark Gatiss (Victory of the Daleks, Night Terrors) and Neil Gaiman.

UK publishers Puffin recently announced a collaboration with the BBC to produce 11 Doctor Who eBook short stories as part of this year's 50th Anniversary celebration. Each book will focus on one of the Eleven Doctors, and Puffin has commissioned 11 well-known children's authors to write each new adventure.
The first book, titled A Big Hand For The Doctor, was written by Eoin Colfer (author of the Artemis Fowl series). Colfer's book will feature the First Doctor, played in the series by William Tell Me More!
