NYCC 2013: Dark Horse Comics Announces SERENITY Sequel Comic Series

Zack Whedon will be writing a new 6 issue comic series for Dark Horse called Serenity: Leaves on the Wind, which will serve as a sequel to Joss Whedon's film Serenity.  The series artwork will be done by Georges Jeantry (Buffy Season 8 & 9).  According to Editor in Chief , Scott Allie, "This story is the first giant step past the film, after the big damn heroes stuck a big middle finger in the face of the Alliance.  Zack establishes new ground rules for these characters. NYCC 2013: Dark Horse Comics Announces BUFFY Season 10

Dark Horse announced at NYCC that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic will be continuing on to season 10.  The series will be 30 issues in length and will be written by Christos Gage  and illustrated by Rebekah Issacs, with covers by long time series artist, Steve Morris. “In Buffy, Season 10 is going to be about bringing friendships back together. AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Debuts Strong For ABC

The ratings are in, and last night's highly anticipated debut of ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was a huge success. The premiere drew 11.9 million live viewers and a 4.6 rating in adults 18-49. Those numbers make S.H.I.E.L.D. TV’s highest-rated drama debut in four years. What's even more impressive is that the show faced tough competition in its 8pm time slot. THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Casts James Spader as Villain

Marvel announced today that The Avengers sequel has found its villain. James Spader has been cast as Ultron in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Emmy award winning actor was last seen on the big screen in Lincoln, and he will return to television this fall as the star of the new series The Blacklist on NBC. In the latest promo for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Coulson gives us the low down on his agents that will be featured in the tv show.  He compares them to members of the Avengers and X-Men that most comic book fans are familiar with.  He even teases that Melinda May has more black belts than Natasha Romanov.  And in the next video we also get to see Skye (played by Chloe Bennet) and Coulson discuss S.H.I.E.L.D. in a voiceover over a montage of the series.  Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres Tell Me More!

New Marvel AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Poster Revealed

The premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is only six weeks away and after a a certain number of retweets ABC finally revealed a new poster advertising the series in several pieces.  Each time a certain number of retweets was hit, another piece of the poster would be revealed and once they were placed together, the resulting image (below) was formed.  So far, Whedon has revealed that we won't find out how Coulson survived right away.  It will be a running storyline in the series and will Tell Me More!

Instead of seeing a brief trailer from the upcoming series, they got to screen the entire pilot episode! And judging by io9's review., it was a big success. Jeph Loeb (Marvel) moderated the panel that included Whedon, Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Iain Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennet. In January, Toy Vault announced a licensing partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to create games, plush, and novelty items based on Joss Whedon’s Firefly. Now we're getting a look at their first plushie based on the Serenity crew. The Captain Malcolm Reynolds Mini Plush will hit stores this fall.
