GEEKY SPRINKLES Kickstarter

Our friend Tara Theoharis, better known on the interwebs as The Geeky Hostess, kicked off 2014 by launching one of the most exciting Kickstarter's we've ever contributed to; Geeky Sprinkles!  It's like Tara dreamed up this concept with all of us in mind!  The first collection includes police box sprinkles (perfect for all of your Doctor Who baking needs), steampunk sprinkles, and our personal favorites, lighting bolt sprinkles for adorning cupcakes, and cakes inspired by The Boy Who Lived.  I Tell Me More!
Artist Spotlight: Dean Trippe

Artist Spotlight: Dean Trippe

We spend a large portion of my time perusing tumblr and deviantArt admiring the unique artistic interpretations of our favorite comic book characters so we thought it would be fitting to start an art column on our blog.  The obvious choice for our first artist post is Dean Trippe.  Dean draws the best Supergirl we've ever laid eyes on.  Her outfit is modest and it's exactly the way our ideal incarnation of Kara would dress.  We're also in love with his Lois Lane Girl Reporter proposal and artwork. In the past, we've told you about the amazing eyeshadow collections produced by Espionage Cosmetics (like their Comic Book and Firefly collections), and now the geeky cosmetic company is Kickstarting their foray into nail art.  The nerdy nail wraps are inspired by space, zombie killer nails (with sparkly blood), Ninja Turtles, and tentacle nails.  Espionage Cosmetics is a cosmetic company for geek girls, by geek girls, so they really understand what it is we're looking for.  We can only imagine Tell Me More!

SDCC 2013: VERONICA MARS Footage

The most backed Kickstarter project ever to be funded was Rob Thomas' Veronica Mars movie which raised over $5 million.  This past week in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con, we finally were able to get a close look at how the the film is progressing.  Since it's still in production, Thomas used footage that has already been shot so he would have something to show the eager fans, or rather, Marshmallows. The film is picking up with a now adult version of Veronica who has become a big shot lawyer Tell Me More!

Kickstarter: Peter Pan The Graphic Novel by Renae De Liz

This past weekend I helped to support Peter Pan: The Graphic Novel Volume 1 illustrated by Renae De Liz.  Her goal is to adapt JM Barrie's novel Peter and Wendy, and the resulting preview images are truly beautiful.  De Liz explains that many current adaptations of the novel leave out too many details or change elements of the original story.  She is also planning on adding extra backstory about Captain Hook by including story elements from JM Barrie's prequel novel, The Little White Bird.  The Tell Me More!

How You Can Help Make A Zombie Movie

The creative minds at Big Damn Films have come up with an exciting new idea for a zombie movie. Described as "Goonies meets Shaun of The Dead", Z*Con follows 14-year-old Matt Moore and 3 of his friends as they attend a comic convention in hopes of interviewing some of their favorite celebrities for their podcast. Unfortunately, their arrival at the convention coincides with the zombie apocalypse. Trapped inside the convention center with thousands of zombies, they use social media and their Tell Me More!
