The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Character Portraits

The second film in the Hunger Games franchise, Catching Fire, is not scheduled for theatrical release until November, but in the meantime, several new character posters have surfaced. It seems that each member of the cast has been professionally photographed in Captitol portraits and everyone is sitting down with the exception of Katniss.  We haven't seen Peeta's photo yet either, but we're sure it's on its way.  We also see a new character, Beetee.  The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Stanley Tucci, Tell Me More!

In the first three official promotional photos from the second movie based on Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy, 'Katniss and Finnick go to war.'  Two of the photos depict the pair together in their new outfits and with a different set of weapons while the one stand alone photo of Katniss shows her in a classic pose with her signature bow and arrows.  The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is scheduled for theatrical release on November 21 and stats Jennifer Hudson as Katniss and Sam Clafin as Finnick. The Hunger Games Outsells Harry Potter on Amazon

We could barely believe our ears when we heard that The Hunger Games had outsold Harry Potter as Amazon's best-selling book series ever.  Being huge fans of both series, we were in no way disappointed by the news, just shocked, plain and simple.  For one thing, J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series consists of seven books while Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games series consists of three books.  Not only has The Hunger Games trumped The Boy Who Lived, but Katniss' book sales soared above Harry's in both Tell Me More!
SuperHEROINE of the Moment: Katniss Everdeen

SuperHEROINE of the Moment: Katniss Everdeen

In honor of The Hunger Games movie which is being released in theaters this Friday March 23rd at midnight, Katniss Everdeen seemed like the only logical choice as our SuperHEROINE of the Week.  Katniss is one of the bravest and most responsible heroines ever to grace our list.  Despite being a young teenager, Katniss' priorities are already stedfast.  She will do whatever it takes to protect her sister Prim and her companion in the Hunger Games, the other District 12 tribute, Peeta. Tell Me More!
